Liposuction is the most effective method to shape the body
Liposuction flattens the abdomen, reduces the circumference of the hips, thighs and buttocks, slims the waist and wrists, and reduces adipose bulges and fat on the knees, neck and arms.

What is a liposuction?
Liposuction or lipoplasty removes unwanted fat from the abdomen, face and/or body to give you the slimmer, firmer shape you want. Liposuction is performed surgically and fat cells removed during surgery do not grow back. This means, should you gain weight after surgery, that it will not be concentrated in your former “problem areas” – the fat will be more evenly distributed. Even if you gain weight after the surgery, your treated areas will always look better than if you had not had the surgery at all.
I use for you the method that really guarantees success and the surgery that affects the body the least. This is individual for each person, but the two methods that guarantee the best results are:
- Water-Assisted Liposuction, or WAL
- The Power-Assisted Liposuction or PAL
How does the liposuction work?
The procedure is performed with local anesthesia or local anesthesia along with intravenous sedation (if desired) on an outpatient basis.
By selectively removing excess fat deposits through a tiny suction tube, I can achieve dramatic fat reduction results in problem areas. In the area of fat removal (liposuction), I make a small (and very inconspicuous) incision. A large amount of anesthetic solution is injected into the area, causing the fat to swell and become firm. This allows the liposuction cannula with a thin tube to get smoothly under the skin. With pulling and pushing movements of the cannula, I loosen the fat under the skin and suck it out at the same moment.
You will be able to work again after 2-3 days. You can resume light activities already after one week. Especially weight training, but also other strenuous activities, you will have to refrain from for about a month.
In the period until about 4-6 weeks after the surgery, you will need to wear a compression garment (panty, body or similar) to reduce swelling and bruising. The garment will also help your skin get used to the new, slimmer contour.
Can I improve my silhouette through liposuction?
Anyone can have liposuction performed. However, you must keep in mind that liposuction is not a successful means of weight loss. It is ideal for stubborn fat or problem areas (abdomen, thighs, legs, arms). I achieve the most remarkable results with patients who exercise regularly and eat a balanced diet.
They do not necessarily have to be in a normal BMI range. Even obese patients sometimes achieve remarkable results. If you are at a stable weight but have stubborn pockets of fat that simply do not respond to diet and exercise, liposuction can be safely performed to achieve the results you desire. However, you should have realistic expectations about what liposuction can do for you. Therefore, during all consultations, it is crucial that you and I intensively discuss the possibilities and limitations of the procedure in your case.
Will my weight be reduced by the surgery?
Liposuction generally does not result in weight loss. It is also not effective in treating cellulite on the thighs and should not replace exercise and a proper diet. It is intended for relatively healthy, fit people who need a little help to achieve a slimmer, attractively proportioned body. The amount of fat that is removed will not have a significant effect on your weight. If you want to lose weight, you should consider making healthy changes to your lifestyle and diet.

How much fat is removed?
The amount of fat to be removed must be very precise. This allows for an aesthetically pleasing contour that complements your overall body image. If too little is removed, these bulges will still be visible to you. If too much is removed, strange craters and unnatural pockets will appear, disrupting the smooth surface of your skin. Excess fat removal can also lead to sagging skin, which would consequently require skin tightening.
I always look at your facial and body contours as a whole, rather than in individual sections. This way, I can more accurately measure the amount of fat to be removed. I evaluate your natural proportions and what will make the enhancement appear most harmonious. Therefore, there is no under or over correction in my patients.
Where can fat be suctioned?
The most common zones I treat in women are the so-called riding pants (outer thighs), inner thighs-knees, flanks and buttocks, abdomen (upper and lower abdomen), back (upper), lower legs, as well as neck and double chin. Men often desire liposuction of the chest, abdominal area, and “love handles” (flanks).
“Liposuction is by far the best way to get rid of unwanted fat. Liposuction helps you lose problem areas and get a harmonious, well-proportioned body.”
When will I see the result?
Although you will notice a difference in your body immediately after surgery, the change will be more noticeable after 4-6 weeks, after the swelling has subsided. The final results appear about 6 months after the procedure.
Liposuction permanently removes unwanted fat cells. Weight gain after surgery may cause the operated area to grow overall, but your overall body contour will look more balanced.
Liposuction Cost
In my practice, your well-being and an optimal result is our top priority. Each patient has an individuality whose needs are the focus of my treatments. Therefore, it is not always possible to give a general estimate of the costs. Therefore, please understand that we cannot give generally valid prices for liposuction. The costs of each surgical treatment also depend on your personal initial situation and your wishes.
Write us a message and make your appointment! Only in the course of a medical examination can we provide you with a personal and binding cost estimate tailored to you!
Prices for liposuction start from CHF 4,000. A specific, customized offer will be made to you after a personal consultation with clinical examination.
FAQ
Liposuction is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to remove excess fat from specific areas of the body. It is not a weight-loss solution but is used to improve body contour and proportion by eliminating stubborn fat that doesn’t respond to diet and exercise. Common areas treated include the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, arms, and neck.
Liposuction is generally safe when performed by a qualified cosmetic surgeon in an accredited facility. As with any surgery, there are risks involved, such as infection, bruising, and swelling. Proper consultation and adherence to pre- and post-operative instructions significantly minimize these risks.
The amount of fat that can be safely removed in a single liposuction session varies, but most guidelines suggest a limit of about 4 liters of fat. Removing more than this is considered high-volume liposuction, which increases the risks of complications.
Recovery time after liposuction can vary depending on the extent of the procedure and the individual’s health. Generally, patients can return to work within a few days but swelling and bruising may last for several weeks. Full recovery and the final results may take a few months to become apparent.
The fat cells removed during liposuction are permanently gone. However, if the patient gains a significant amount of weight after the procedure, fat can accumulate in the same or other areas of the body. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle with a balanced diet and regular exercise is crucial for preserving the results.
Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity. It is best suited for people who are relatively close to their ideal body weight but have areas of fat they would like to remove. It is most effective for body contouring and shaping rather than significant weight reduction.
The most common areas for liposuction include the abdomen, thighs, back, arms, under the chin, and along the waistline (love handles). Each area can be targeted to remove fat and sculpt a more desirable silhouette.
During a liposuction consultation, your cosmetic surgeon will evaluate your medical history, discuss your aesthetic goals, and explain the procedure. They will also assess the areas of your body you want to treat and discuss potential risks and outcomes. This consultation ensures that liposuction is a suitable option for you.
Liposuction involves small incisions, typically 2-3 mm, where the cannula is inserted to remove fat. These incisions may leave small scars, but they are usually inconspicuous and fade over time. Your body’s healing ability will influence the visibility of scars.
Preparation for liposuction includes undergoing various medical evaluations or lab tests, stopping certain medications, and quitting smoking to improve recovery and reduce the risk of complications. It’s also important to arrange for someone to drive you home after the surgery and help around the house as you recover.
Tumescent liposuction is a popular technique where a large amount of a medicated solution is injected into the areas being treated before the fat is removed. This solution contains a local anesthetic and a drug that constricts blood vessels, which reduces bleeding, swelling, and pain, making the procedure safer and recovery faster.
Potential risks of liposuction include bruising, infection, swelling, fluid accumulation, and changes in skin sensation. More severe complications can occur but are rare, especially when the surgery is performed by a competent and experienced aesthetic surgeon.
Yes, liposuction can often be combined with other cosmetic procedures such as tummy tucks, breast augmentations, or facelifts. Combining surgeries can reduce overall recovery time and achieve more comprehensive aesthetic improvements. However, this should only be done under the advice and supervision of a qualified cosmetic surgeon.
Liposuction usually takes between one to three hours, depending on the number of areas treated and the volume of fat being removed. Procedures involving multiple areas or larger volumes of fat removal may take longer.
Liposuction can be performed under local anesthesia, which numbs only the treated area, or under general anesthesia, where the patient is completely unconscious. The choice depends on the extent of the procedure and the patient’s and cosmetic surgeon’s preferences.
