Liquid Facelift: The minimal approach for a complete facelift

If you are well versed in the Liquid Facelift technique, you can create impressive results for sagging, drooping skin on the face. This minimally invasive method is often referred to as a facelift without surgery. In doing so, I can contour and lift your facial areas to shape you and make you look younger without making a single incision.

Treatment Overview

Dr. Kelly Vasileiadou explains the Liquid Facelift in detail in the video.

What is a Liquid Facelift?

The Liquid Facelift is a minimally invasive, non-surgical method to achieve a rejuvenated, youthful appearance.

With the right skill, injectables such as derma fillers (e.g., hyaluronic acid) and biostimulators can be used to create a non-surgical lift.

Using a special technique of injections, the Liquid Facelift reduces facial wrinkles, increases volume and releases sagging skin to create a fresher, more vibrant appearance.

The filler entry points follow Dr. Mauricio de Maio’s 8-point lift regimen on the mid and upper face, specifically modified and enhanced by my own protocol. The results of a Liquid Facelift can be incredible and sometimes compared to those achieved through surgical procedures.

How does the Liquid Facelift work?

Together with you, I will design a treatment program for your Liquid Facelift that is specifically tailored to your face and aesthetic goals. Some of my patients choose to have multiple fillers applied at the same time during one visit. Often, I take the approach with patients to schedule treatments in multiple steps for gradual improvement over a longer period of time. For me, this question comes at the beginning of the treatment.

Before the Liquid Lift, your skin is cleansed and disinfected. For the injections, very fine, blunt cannulas are used to deliver the fillers into the skin.  That is why it is called skin tightening without surgery.

The treatment is painless and most patients return to work and their normal activities immediately.

Is a Liquid Facelift the right treatment for me?

It is my understanding that if you want minimally invasive, outpatient procedures to improve your appearance to the maximum, you are predestined for the gentle Liquid Facelift.

You should consider a Liquid Facelift if you look older or more tired than you feel and want to improve the sagging skin on your face. Many of my patients also prefer a Liquid Facelift if you are younger and a surgical facelift is too invasive a procedure.

The Liquid Facelift has the potential to correct the following problematic areas simultaneously in just one treatment:

  • Nasolabial folds (lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth).
  • Marionette lines (narrow lines from the corner of the mouth to the chin)
  • sagging, flat cheeks
  • hollows under the eyes
  • wrinkles and furrows in the forehead
  • wrinkles around the eyes and lips
  • loss of volume in the cheeks

When is a surgical facelift the better option?

Even though a Liquid Facelift can achieve comparable results to a surgical facelift in many patients, there are limits to the method. If there is too much excess skin, only minimal improvements can be achieved with a Liquid Lift and for an effective facelift I perform a surgical facelift. The age at which this point is reached varies from individual to individual. I will be happy to advise you on both methods and together we will find the best treatment.

How long does a Liquid Facelift last?

Since fillers such as hyaluronic acid are used in a Liquid Facelift, the effect wears off again over time, because the fillers are broken down by the body over time. How long the results last depends on the fillers used and the individual metabolism.

On average, however, one can assume that the effect will last at least 1 to 1.5 years. However, because I also use products that stimulate collagen production in the skin during this treatment, the results last almost 2 years due to the build-up of the skin’s own collagen.

What happens after my Liquid Facelift?

Depending on the combination of fillers, you may see an improvement in your face immediately or the change may be gradual. As with any injection, slight swelling and redness may occur at the injection site during a Liquid Facelift. Occasionally, bruising may occur, which usually disappears within a week.
A short time later, you will look naturally and subtly rejuvenated and refreshed. The dermal fillers take effect after the first to second week.

“Through sophisticated technology, experience and innovative products, the Liquid Facelift can replace the surgical facelift in many cases.”
