PDO thread lifting – for a lifted face without surgery

Thread lifting is a procedure for skin tightening without surgery. It can be applied to the face, neck or body. To do this, threads that have small hooks are passed under the skin through a fine cannula. The hooks then grab the skin from underneath and pull it upward to reposition it in a lifted, more youthful position.

The dermis is composed primarily of connective tissue fibers and is responsible for nourishing and supporting the skin. It contains essential components of the skin (hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin), which are responsible for the skin’s structure and elasticity.

The absorbable PDO filaments create an internal network in the skin, causing an inflammatory response that draws platelets and neutrophils that energize fibroblasts and monocytes. This mechanism promotes angiogenesis and the production of collagen and elastin. Meanwhile, the skin defense mechanism recognizes the insertion of the sutures as an injury and stimulates the healing process, resulting in physical collagonogenesis, with consequent reduction of superficial wrinkles and tightening of the skin. The consequence of collagen stimulation improves the result of the treatment.

First, I determine the places where the PDO threads will be inserted. These are inserted with the help of a thin “atraumatic” needle into the dermis of the skin at a certain depth and in a certain direction. The immediate tightening of your skin occurs with thread lifting by anchoring bi-directional hooks that allow the threads to grip and tighten the dermis.

The material of PDO threads is completely biocompatible, biodegradable, fully absorbed by the body and leaves no trace. For even better results, I combine this treatment with Liquid Facelift and toxin treatments.

Thread lifting achieves facial tightening through two effects: mechanical tightening through the threads and stimulation of the body’s own collagen production, which has a rejuvenating effect on the overall appearance of the skin.

The method for thread lifting is painless, bloodless and does not require incisions in the skin. The treatment is aimed at patients with obvious, initial effects of light ageing, slight laxity and superficial fine wrinkles. An important condition for thread lifting is that the skin is not extremely thick or thin. The thread lift does not replace the surgical facelift, but is a very good alternative for patients with slightly sagging skin who do not wish to undergo surgery or surgery is not yet indicated.

After the thread lift treatment, slight edema and rarely some bruising may be observed, which gradually recede over the next few days. Some tenderness in the area may occur in the coming days.

You can resume your activities as usual after the end of the thread lift treatment, however, you should not do any sports or other strenuous activities for the first 2-3 days after the treatment.

Yes, thread lifting is suitable for skin tightening without surgery also in other areas of the body. Except for the face, thread lifting is performed very successfully and frequently, for example, on the neck. But also in other parts of the body where a slight lifting of skin and tissue is needed, such as a lift on the abdomen or also on the arms, knees, inner thighs or buttocks.
