From Affordable Package to Medical Emergency<\/h2>\n

A young woman from Zurich chose to undergo breast augmentation abroad. The package price was significantly lower than typical costs in Switzerland. However, serious complications developed shortly after her return.<\/p>\n

Infection and Emergency Treatment in Switzerland<\/h2>\n

Within weeks of the operation, a severe infection developed. The implant had to be removed, followed by hospitalization, intravenous antibiotics, and several weeks of medical aftercare.<\/p>\n

Follow-Up Costs of Around 55,000 CHF<\/h2>\n

As the treatment was medically necessary due to an acute infection, Swiss basic health insurance covered the costs. According to the report, the total expenses amounted to approximately 55,000 CHF.<\/p>\n

Not an Isolated Case<\/h2>\n

Dr. Kelly Vasileiadou explains in the interview that such cases occur regularly. Many complications only become apparent days or weeks after patients return home \u2014 at a time when foreign clinics are often no longer reachable.<\/p>\n
