Depending on your body type, breast implants can be placed in different ways relative to the Pectoralis muscle: over the muscle, under the muscle, or using the ‘Dual-Plane’ technique.

Over the Muscle (Subglandular)

• Implant is placed directly under the breast gland.
• Drawback: If you have thin natural tissue, the implant can be visible/palpable, resulting in a less natural transition.
• -> his is not our preferred approach.

Under the Muscle (Submuscular)

• Implant is fully placed beneath the chest muscle.
• Creates a seamless transition and reduces the risk of capsular contracture.
• Drawback: Muscle pressure may cause contour issues (like the ‘Double Bubble’ effect).

Dual-Plane Technique – Our Preferred Method

• Placement is in two tiers: the upper portion is under the muscle, the lower portion is under the gland.

The incision for breast augmentation is strategically placed for maximum invisibility. The Inframammary placement (in the natural breast crease) is surgically preferred because it allows for:

Breast augmentation is an operation where you will recover very quickly after the procedure. However, it is important that you carefully follow the post-operative instructions that you receive from me. 

The procedure takes no more than 60 minutes and you can go home the same day. Basically, you can start light daily activities on the first day after surgery and you can return to work five days post-operatively. However, you may resume strenuous activities and sports only after four weeks. You should wear the compression bra, which you will receive from us at home, for 6 weeks after the operation.

There are round and teardrop-shaped (anatomical) breast implants.

The anatomical implant has the peculiarity that 65% of the volume is in the lower pole, whereas in the round implant the distribution is 50:50. As a result, round implants emphasize the upper pole and the décolleté more than anatomical implants, which offer a more natural shape of the breast.

The implants also differ in texture. There are the textured, the smooth and the micro or nano textured implants. The difference lies in the manufacturing process, which is why textured implants are usually also firmer and more dimensionally stable than smooth implants. 

We work with the latest generation of silicone implants, which are very stable in shape, reliable, tested for many years and of high quality. The newest implants are characterized by a high standard of quality and safety; they integrate better with the female breast, the silicone gel adapts to the natural movement of the body, and the feeling of the body is absolutely natural and pleasant. 

We do not have exclusive cooperation with any manufacturer of breast implants (e.g. Mentor, Motiva, GCA, Polytech etc.) and hence are not obliged to a vendor. We use the implant that fits you and only that. Here we do not make any compromises.

The latest generation of breast implants do not have a date after which they need to be replaced. If you feel comfortable, there is no reason to replace them. It is very important that the breast implant I use for breast augmentation comes with a lifetime guarantee.

During pregnancy, the size and shape of the breasts change – regardless of whether breast augmentation was performed or not. Pregnancy often changes the shape of your breast tissue, but the implants remain the same. The hormonal changes during pregnancy affect the structure of your breasts, but do not affect the implant.

Many of our patients have asked when is the best time for breast augmentation. Here I have found that there are two age groups. The first group is women in their twenties, and the second is women in their late thirties or early forties who already have children. With the first group, we often talk to them about their plans to have children. If they are getting married and expecting children soon, we may postpone placing breast implants because the breasts will change during pregnancy. But if you are not planning to have children in the near future, there is no reason to wait.

Contrary to the fears of many women, breast augmentation with implants does not affect the ability to breastfeed. The implant is placed under the breast tissue and often under the pectoralis muscle, away from the milk ducts.
