Why Hybrid Breast Augmentation Is Gaining Popularity in 2025

As specialists in plastic surgery in Switzerland, we at Dr. Kelly® follow the latest trends and developments in aesthetic medicine very closely. We immediately recognise which methods are particularly in demand from the wishes of our patients.
One of the techniques that is enjoying significant growth in popularity in 2025 is hybrid breast augmentation. But what exactly does this term mean – and why are more and more women opting for this innovative method? I will be happy to explain this to you in the following article.
What is a hybrid breast augmentation?
Hybrid breast augmentation – as we perform it at the Dr. Kelly® in Zug, Switzerland – combines two proven techniques from aesthetic surgery: the insertion of breast implants and fat transfer, also known as lipofilling or autologous fat transfer.
This double method offers numerous advantages. While the breast implants enlarge and define your breasts, the fat transfer ensures a natural increase in volume and softer contours.
Briefly explained: The hybrid breast augmentation procedure
In order to achieve the above-mentioned goals, we first remove fat from one or more areas of your body, such as belly, thighs or hips. Fat is removed in a gentle manner, i.e. the skin and surrounding tissue are not damaged by liposuction.
We then prepare this fat. During fat preparation, intact fat cells are isolated in order to prepare them for the transfer to your breast, also called fat grafting. Before we can carry out the fat transfer, the implants are inserted to create the basic volume and the desired shape. Each breast implant is available in different shapes and sizes and is individually customised for each patient.
After inserting the breast implant, we inject the prepared fat precisely into the breast – especially into the areas that require contouring and smooth transitions, for example the décolleté. We pay meticulous attention to achieving a harmonious combination of volume, shape and customised body proportions as result of hybrid breast augmentation.
At a glance: the advantages of the hybrid method
There are a number of reasons why an increasing number of women are opting for the hybrid method for breast augmentation. According to our experience, the most important of these are:
1. Women appreciate the natural feel and soft appearance of the breast created by the addition of the body’s own fat to the implant.
2. Problem areas can be tackled at the same time: Liposuction can be performed on areas such as the belly or thighs for body contouring.
3. The technique is extremely flexible. This means that we can tailor the results to your individual wishes.
4. The method softens implant borders: this is an advantage that should not be underestimated, especially for slim women, as visible and palpable borders often occur when using implants only.
5. Results last longer: your tissue retains some of the injected fat permanently. So you benefit from an overall aesthetic appearance for longer.
Is 2025 the year for your breast augmentation?
‘Why now?’ you may be asking yourself. Our experience as plastic surgery specialists in Switzerland has recently shown that hybrid breast augmentation is currently benefiting above all from constantly improving materials, such as implants and fat grafting.
We are also continuously improving our techniques. We have e.g. recently refined our fat processing procedures – with visibly better results. This corresponds with the expectation of many women who want the most natural result possible from an aesthetic procedure. The hybrid method complies with that wish – not least because it is a minimally invasive and tailored procedure.
Who is hybrid breast augmentation suitable for?
Basically, any woman who aims at moderately enlarged breasts with a natural look and sufficient fat reserves for fat transfer. Anyone who wants to conceal the transition zone of implants or wishes for additional body contouring will also benefit from the hybrid method. We often receive enquiries from women with asymmetrical breasts or irregular breast contours. Hybrid breast augmentation offers an effective solution for them.
Of course, every patient is unique – which is why we we always provide comprehensive advice in advance and also examine you thoroughly to find the right method for you.
A look into the future of breast augmentation
Hybrid breast augmentation is more and more appreciated as an innovative alternative in 2025, as it combines innovation, naturalness and customisation at the highest level. In our view, the procedure is an excellent example of how aesthetic surgery is evolving to meet the needs of modern women.
If you are curious and would like to find out more about this technique, I would like to invite you to a personal consultation. At Dr Kelly® we will be happy to answer your questions and accompany you on your journey.
