“We’ve seen a continuous increase in breast procedures over the past several years,” says Dr. Kelly. “Breast augmentation and breast lifts are particularly in demand.”
According to her clinic’s data, breast surgeries have increased by over 50% in the past two years alone.
While some media narratives link this trend to social media, Dr. Kelly takes a more nuanced view.
“During consultations, we always ask our patients about their motivations. Rarely do they say: ‘I saw this on Instagram from someone famous.’”
However, she does note that some patients bring images from social media or the internet and say, ‘This is the result I’d like.’
Dr. Kelly emphasizes that breast augmentation is a deeply individual decision—one that must take into account each patient’s unique body and proportions. The goal is always a natural, harmonious result that suits the person—not a copy of an online image.
