You will need to wear a compression garment in the areas of the liposuction for about two weeks. The garment will help with swelling and reduce it noticeably.

All sutures and drainage tubes will be removed within seven to ten days. You will not be able to sit directly on your buttocks for a few weeks after a Brazilian Butt Lift. Putting pressure on the transferred fat for an extended period of time can affect your results and prevent vascularization.

You can expect to have some bruising for about three to four weeks after a Brazilian Butt Lift; after that, you can resume all normal activities. Most patients who are not sedentary can return to work within a few days. Others may need to take time off from work for up to 10 days or even longer for a Brazilian Butt Lift.

Your results of a Brazilian Butt Lift are long lasting and only change with the effects of aging and weight fluctuations. Smoking can be another factor in fat survival. This is because nicotine can restrict and impair the growth of blood vessels that are essential for supporting transferred fat.
