Laser skin rejuvenation: the latest technology for a radiant appearance

Aging or damage to the skin can be caused by sun damage, stress, pollution or genetics. Laser skin rejuvenation is a non-surgical, minimally invasive medical treatment used to reduce signs of aging, pigment and imperfections of the skin.

We use a variety of different ablative and non-ablative lasers to improve wrinkles. Laser skin rejuvenation extends beyond wrinkle treatment; it is a laser surface treatment that holistically improves skin quality with permanent results.

The laser procedure itself takes about 30 minutes on average, but can take up to 1.5 hours for a more extensive treatment and more surface area. A local anesthetic is applied to the skin before the treatment. This relieves the immediate discomfort, which feels like a mild sunburn. The treatment is very well tolerated. Skin rejuvenation with laser results in small social downtime and patients can return to everyday life in 2-3 days.

While many individuals wish to revitalize their appearance, not everyone is suitable for laser treatment. Ideal candidates for laser skin resurfacing are individuals aiming to reduce mild facial blemishes. If aging, acne or too much sun exposure has affected your face with pigmentation, scars, wrinkles or lines, laser skin resurfacing can help make your skin look younger and healthier.

Patients who have significant skin laxity and sagging may not be the best candidates for this procedure and may be better suited for a more corrective procedure, such as a face or neck lift, or may have a non-invasive facelift of another form, such as Dr. Kelly^® Nxt Gen Liquid Facelift or Radiofrequency microneedling.

Laser skin rejuvenation promotes collagen production around the capillaries of the skin, which improves the youthful appearance of the skin and can also help reduce wrikles. The procedure begins to take effect after about 2 to 3 weeks after the first treatment, at which time the new collagen is produced, with the full effect becoming visible after one month.

Laser skin rejuvenation shows very good results after just one treatment. Depending on the skin’s condition, we recommend multiple treatments to achieve optimal results. Especially for sun-damaged skin this is highly recommended. However, this always depends on your individual expectations and the response of your skin to this therapy. Results vary with each patient, but we see a significant improvement in skin condition, especially when you combine the treatment with radiofrequency microneedling, Radiesse treatments and my antioxidant skin care. When doing this, we give the collagen enough time to build up and space the treatments about 4 weeks apart.

Laser skin rejuvenation provides particularly good results when used in combination with other treatments such as fillers and radiofrequency microneedling. We compile special treatment programs individually for you.

There are 2 main laser types used in skin rejuvenation procedures: ablative and non-ablative ones.

Ablative or invasive lasers remove the damaged surface layers of the skin, while non-ablative and fractional lasers remove little to no skin and focus exclusively on the body’s ability to heal itself by stimulating collagen production. This is how the skin repairs itself. Both forms of treatment are very effective in achieving visible skin rejuvenation results and repairing sun damage.
