Hybrid Breast Augmentation at Dr. Kelly® – Implant and Fat Transfer, Thoughtfully Combined
Contents
Some women want a meaningful increase in breast volume – and a result that looks completely natural. Women who want more fullness, but not at the expense of authenticity. Women who don’t want to choose between two methods because neither one, alone, is enough.
For exactly these women, there is hybrid breast augmentation.
It combines a smaller silicone implant with a targeted injection of your own body fat (lipofilling) – in a single surgery. The implant creates the shape and foundational volume. The fat softens transitions, conceals visible implant edges, and adds naturalness in the décolletage.
The result is a breast that feels like a breast – soft, moveable, proportional.
We have been performing this procedure for many years. Not as a trend. But because we are genuinely convinced that, for certain starting situations, it delivers the most medically intelligent result.

What is Hybrid Breast Augmentation?
Hybrid breast augmentation – also known as composite breast augmentation – is a surgical procedure that combines two well-established methods in a single operation:
- Breast implant – for volume, projection, and defined shape
- Autologous fat transfer (lipofilling) – for natural transitions, softer contours, and a more lifelike feel
The implant is intentionally chosen smaller than in a classic augmentation. The remaining volume is provided by your own fat tissue – placed precisely in the areas where implants alone often appear unnatural: the upper pole, the décolletage, and the lateral transitions.
The result is a breast appearance that is indistinguishable from nature.

How does the procedure work?
The procedure takes place in our own AQC-certified operating suite in Hünenberg See (Zug). No busy hospitals. No changing of care teams. Your team knows you – and you know your team.
Step 1 – Fat Harvesting (Liposuction)
We begin by gently removing fat tissue from suitable donor areas – typically the abdomen, waist, thighs, or flanks. This is a precise, careful liposuction that simultaneously serves as body contouring. The harvested fat is then specially processed and purified.
Step 2 – Implant Placement
As in classic breast augmentation, a high-quality silicone implant is placed. We prefer the Dual-Plane technique: the upper portion of the implant sits beneath the pectoral muscle, while the lower portion lies under the glandular tissue. This reduces the risk of capsular contracture and creates a natural-looking transition. The implant is chosen slightly smaller than would be needed for the full desired volume – because the fat transfer in the next step completes the picture.
Step 3 – Fat Injection
The processed fat is injected in fine layers, precisely and gently, into the breast – primarily in the upper pole, the lateral areas, and the décolletage. There, it conceals implant edges, creates soft transitions, and gives the breast the natural appearance that an implant alone cannot achieve.
Total duration: 2 – 2.5 hours. You can go home the same day. We accompany you through the entire aftercare – personally, directly, and reachable around the clock.
“The implant gives the breast its shape. The fat gives it its soul.”
Who is a good candidate?
The hybrid method is not the right choice for every patient. We say this clearly – because an honest recommendation matters more to us than a broad treatment offering.
Particularly well-suited for:
- Slim women with little native breast tissue, where an implant alone would appear or feel too artificial
- Women with a thin soft tissue layer, where implant edges would be visible without fat coverage
- Women who desire meaningful volume increase but not a purely silicone result
- Patients with mild asymmetries, which can be precisely corrected through targeted fat injection
- Women with sufficient fat reserves in the abdomen, flanks, or thighs
Prerequisites:
- Stable weight
- Sufficient donor fat available
- Realistic expectations about achievable volume
- Non-smoker (or smoking cessation at least 6 weeks prior)
- Good general health
B: Breast augmentation below the pectoral muscle (before/after).
Why not implants alone?
Breast implants are a reliable, safe, and proven method – and for many women, they are the right choice. But they have medical limitations that we believe in stating honestly.
In very slim women with little native tissue, implants alone can:
- Become visible in the upper pole – as an edge or transition that looks unnatural
- Be palpable – particularly in the décolletage and at the lateral margins
- Fail to fully mimic natural movement – the material is not the same as natural fatty tissue
In these cases, a larger implant is not the answer. It is often the very problem. The combination with fat resolves this weakness precisely: the fat acts as a natural covering layer – soft, autologous, alive.
Why not fat transfer alone?
Pure fat transfer (lipofilling) is an elegant method for moderate augmentation – and for women who wish to avoid foreign materials entirely. But it, too, has limits.
With pure lipofilling, we can typically increase breast size by half to one full cup size. Those who want more run into biological limitations: too much fat injected at once cannot fully integrate.
If a patient desires more than one cup size increase, wants clear projection and defined shape, or has limited fat reserves – then pure lipofilling is often not sufficient. Hybrid means: combining the right element from each method. Nothing more, nothing less.
Scarring
- Implant incision: Small incision in the inframammary fold. Well concealed, heals excellently.
- Liposuction entry points: Very small punctures (approx. 3–4 mm) at donor sites. Barely visible, no significant scarring.
We always work with the MST (Minimal Scarring Technique) and the Keller Funnel (No-Touch Technique). 99% of our patients develop a very inconspicuous scar.
Results & Long-term Perspective
We think in decades – not in Instagram cycles. This is not a slogan. It is the foundation of every treatment decision we make.
The implant:
A lasting solution. The latest generation of silicone implants has no prescribed replacement date.
The fat:
Your own body tissue – permanently integrated. Typically, 60–80% of the injected fat remains long-term. Physiologically normal reabsorption is factored into the planning.
The overall result:
- Looks natural and feels natural
- Moves with your body
- Does not appear ‘foreign’ with time
- Stands up to critical medical scrutiny over the years
“The most beautiful result in aesthetics is when nobody sees what was done.”
Cost
The price for breast augmentation is CHF 8,900.-
Your well-being and an optimal result is our top priority. Each patient has an individuality whose needs are the focus of my treatments. Therefore, it is not always possible to give a general estimate of the costs. Therefore, please understand that we cannot give generally valid prices for breast augmentation. The costs of each surgical treatment also depend on your personal initial situation and your wishes.
